~Nothing but a whisper on the wind~
Rain poured from the heavens, dousing everything in cold water. The ground in the den site was soaked with water and mud, the cliffside that made part of the den area had water streaming down the rocks. Dripping over the entrances to the Alpha and Elite dens, as it just continued to pour. Lightening flashed across the sky, right after the thunder boomed. It felt like the land was shaking with each explosion of thunder.
From within the alpha den, a gray bundle of fur shivered, she hated wetness when it was cold, and being that she lived in a little cold den all by herself, she curled tighter in a ball but soon gave up on trying to get back to sleep as another clap of thunder went off, startling her from the suddenness of it all. Bright blue orbs flitted around the den, then she sighed in relief, for a moment she thought rocks were tumbling down the cliffside.
The alphaess got up slowly and stretched out on her fore-paws, hind quarters in the air as she yawned. She then straightened herself up, looking at the den exit and flattened her ears as she saw the storm going on outside. As much as she wanted to stay inside she couldn't so she gulped then walked to the exit, looking at the roots of the log that had been moved there so Alphas could easily leave their den and get in it. It also allowed the elites to live in much larger den beneath hers.
Carefully watching her step, she dug her claws into the log best she could as she scrabbled down the surface and onto the muddy ground. In moments her silvery fur was drenched, and she had a look of disdain upon her face. Although she dare not complain, she was alpha after all, and the elders already didn't like her as it was, no need to make it worse.

Isis' eyes snapped open as a clap of thunder shook the air. She relaxed her muscles tensed for battle, and attempted to go back to sleep, but the pounding of the rain upon stone and ground made it impossible. It was when she heard the creak of wood that she realized the Alpha had left her den. Isis stood up and shook her silver speckled with white coat to rid it of any clinging bits of dirt or twigs. Then she picked her way around the other wolves and out into the swirling icy rain. She approached the Alpha cautiously, not wishing to interrupt her thoughts, but willing to wait until the Alpha would acknowledge her presence and speak to her.

Rush shivered in her attempted sleep. The rain was pouring hard, and the air was freezing. It was even worse for a wolf with an empty stomach, and a thinner coat. She opened her eyes and sighed. There was no way she was going to sleep tonight. She looked at her autumn colored leg, the cause of why she was an omega. At first she was tempted to think of how miserable her life was, but then shook her head violently. She should be grateful that she even has a life, or a den to sleep in, Especially on a night like this, Where you can barely see infront of you with all this rain. She was debating of whether or not to go outside. On one hand, It was raining, freezing cold, and she might get sick and therfore a possible danger to the pack. On the otherhand, there is a chance that something drowned and got washed up near the camp, or maybe a left over meal she could scavenge.. To be cold, or to have a full stomach? She pondered the thought for a few minutes, and decided that food might be worth it. She stepped outside, and shrunk down when she heard the thunderclap. She put her muzzle under her paws and whined. When she heard nothing but the rain, she hesitantly got up and sniffed the air for anything. She barely caught the scent of her packmates, let alone food. Rush refused to give up. She decided to hope for the best with the 'Miserable' tactic, where she would look for food, and hope someone decided to take pity on her, She sniffed the ground, not that it would do her much good. She made sure that her semi-bushy fur was flat against her skin, so as she looked smaller. She tucked in her all ready small stomach, so as to look hungrier. It was always worth a shot to be a little over-dramatic. She crawled over to the pack smells, slowly and with seemingly low energy. Hopefully someone might give her something if they have it.

Isis turned when she heard a whining to see Rush coming towards them. She pitied the Omega and understood how she felt, she had almost been an Omega herself because of the unnatural death of all her siblings and her mother. She realized that not only Rush but the rest of the pack would be hungry when they awoke. Quietly and with a tone of respect the Fae spoke to her leader, looking at the ground below her white striped muzzle.
"Silver would you like me to go hunting or to organize a hunting party so as to replenish the stock of food?"
She shuffled her paws and glanced at the lean wolf with autumn front leg, shooting her a fleeting smile. She yearned to be out of camp, away from the fearful glances, as if she with her mere presence would cause trouble and death in camp. Her icy blue eyes turned to the dark heavens as she wondered what her mother would think of her old pack and how they had hated her only living daughter. Isis knew her father still found it hard to look at her as almost everything about her was identical to her mother. She hoped that someday she would gain acceptance from her pack.

Rush saw the smile from the elite out of the corner of her eye. She looked back at her, and identified her as Isis. She couldn't help but smile back at her, and feel a bit jealous of her. She had escaped being an omega simply because there was someone to train her, but she was given up. She didn't want to think about that now. Being an omega wasnt all that bad, well.. besides the lack of food.. and how half the pack treats you like garbage... but its ok otherwise.

~Nothing but a whisper on the wind~
The silvery wolf lowered her head and let out a sigh, unaware of the elite behind her, for the wind was blowing the scents at her face, and with all the rain around. She couldn't determine that she was behind her, all she could do was smell the fae known as Rush. Although Rush was just an omega, the way she looked this morning honestly made the Alpha feel sorry for her, it was uncommon for an Alpha to feel pity for an omega but she did. Another flash of lightening followed by the boom of thunder and it rang loudly in her ears.
Suddenly, someone behind her spoke, even though the voice was soft, it made her jump, legs going stiff as she slowly turned her head to look over her shoulder. Then she realized it was Isis and a smile broke on her muzzle. Ears perking as she side stepped with her hind legs, facing the Elite a little more, a slight wag of her tail in a friendly gesture. "Oh Isis, good morning, I apologize I was lost in thought, if you have the time to spare to do so, please do.. I'm afraid since my Beta's died I haven't thought to appoint a new one.."
she murmured, realizing that in fact she did need a new beta, and she also needed an Alpha male, those two things alone were driving the elders crazy, she could hear them whispering about it all the time, oh how she hated it. They thought she was disrespectful, but that was hardly the case. [/blockquote]
